Kim Kardashian and Kanye West expecting their fourth child
There will soon be another member of the Kardashian-West crew to keep up with.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting a baby through a surrogate, Us Weekly and People reported.
It will be the fourth child for the reality star and the hip hop artist, who also have 5-year-old daughter North, 3-year-old son Saint and 11-month-old daughter Chicago.
The new bundle of joy is expected to be a boy and is due at the beginning of May, according to Us Weekly.
West, 41, and Kardashian, 38, welcomed their third child together through a surrogate last January. The duo turned to a surrogate after Kardashian’s doctor told her it would be unsafe for her to carry another baby after dealing with complications during her first two pregnancies.
Kardashian experienced placenta accreta during her pregnancies with both North and Saint. The medical condition is characterized by the placenta failing to detach during childbirth.
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star had expressed an openness to welcoming another baby during an interview on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” this past May.
“I would have maybe one more. I would maybe try for one more,” Kardashian told hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest. “I really, really enjoyed the surrogacy process. … I will say, when it came to the breastfeeding time, I was like, ‘OK, this is the best decision I ever made.’ It’s a game changer.
“Having to not go through that every few hours, breastfeeding, I can spend so much more time with the older kids and getting them all used to the baby,” she continued.
Kardashian told E! News in August that she and West did not have any plans to add to their family at that time.
She was not the only member of her famous family to welcome a new baby in 2018. Her sister Khloe Kardashian and half-sister Kylie Jenner both became mothers for the first time last year.
